Porto Vecchio

Composed of two 8-story buildings connected by a grand lobby and lounge, Porto Vecchio truly defines old world elegance. Porto Vecchio, which means “old port” in Italian, has been called a “marriage of structure and setting,” featuring circular oversized terraces and mansarde roofs while preserving the spectacular view of the Potomac River by integrating the architecture into its environment. This project was built on some of the last available riverfront land in the Metropolitan area, located at the southernmost tip of Old Town Alexandria, and within walking distance of the conveniences and excitement of town life. Completed in 1984, Porto Vecchio was designed in the style of a turn-of-the-century resort, with 170 residences and over 50 floor plans for the residents to choose from. These floor plans feature the best of IDI’s product line, with grand living spaces, marbled entrances, and luxuries such as fireplaces, dressing suites, and at least one terrace in each residence.
